pretend you missed me?!!
I have returned from a week in Germany, most kindly paid for by my employer(YAY!!!). This is a most gorgeous time of year to visit Heidelberg what with the Christmas markets and everything so it's safe to say I had a damn good time.
Itinerary as follows: Monday flew, landed, got driven to hotel, receive key for Aportment 4 (it was an aportment-not an apartment, and thus far posher ;)) As a small bumpkin child I am highly amused by the fact that I have a couch and kitchenette. I giggle and go out for drinks. Tuesday is work followed by a meal out in a brewery (paid for by my employer double YAY!) Spend the evening discussing with my direct superior how anothe colleague of ours sneaks into setts and shaves baby badgers...there was also something about badgers being stapled to foreheads...all in all, resulted in a vague fuzzy feeling about working with this woman - table was renamed the Spasstisch :) (We received a thank you mail from the German guy sitting with us the next day...worrying but true..!!) Fuelled with gluehwein beer and badgers we taxi home happily. Wednesday is training day - was probably fun...! Followed by gluehwein and watching ice skating in Schwettingen a little town up the road..oh yeah and then dinner with the badger superior in another brewery...oh laughter :) Thursday more training...turn into a vague leonardo da vinci...something food something etc beer early night etc. Friday day of meetings running all day meeting highly important people and giving them chocolate...cos we're brown nosers and proud OH YES! Attempt an evening search for waffles but to no avail siiigh. Saturday up at 9.30 to run about and shop happily interspersed with coke and sitting and eating and drinking and hot chocolate and finally a return to the aportment (a porty in the aportment how wunderbar!!) where with 6 others, 2 bottles of red, a dodgy champagne and a table full of happy german food, Barbies movie auf deutsch (which seemed pretty awful) was converted to porn (bad porn but more fun than barbie) in a beautiful display of teamwork...
And today I got up at 6a.m Irish time an hour to the airport and got back to Galway at 6.45 p.m. and THATs why its ok that I'm eating a supermacs meal :) when I say ok I mean...bad and wrong ...but meh!!
